04.06.2025 11:26Russia could use a tactical nuclear strike as a way to begin pressuring Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy into surrender, according to retired British Army Colonel Richard Kemp.
This information reported by the Daily Mail.
“Russian President Vladimir Putin may well believe that this would demonstrate his invincibility and force Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to surrender. The horrifying reality is that this calculation might turn out to be correct,” Kemp stated.
He further argued that no country in the world would dare launch a retaliatory nuclear strike against Russia over Ukraine.
Kemp considers a nuclear strike on Kyiv or Odesa “almost unthinkable.” He suggests a more likely scenario would be a strike on a military target, such as an airfield, or possibly even on a nuclear power plant.
It’s worth noting that Kemp recently stated that the UK should assist Ukraine in developing its own nuclear weapons under the framework of the strategic partnership agreement.
