20.08.2025 17:30Poland will not send its troops to Ukraine as part of a peacekeeping mission.
This was stated by the country’s Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a press conference.
According to him, the Polish army has other tasks, in particular — protecting NATO’s eastern flank, guarding the Polish-Belarusian border, and providing infrastructure and logistics for a “potential peacekeeping mission.”
“In this process, dozens, hundreds, even thousands of Polish soldiers will be engaged on Polish territory to guard allied forces stationed in Poland or, alternatively, to guard allied forces deployed in Ukraine,” the defense minister said.
At the same time, he stressed that the fact that Warsaw will not be sending its own troops into Ukraine does not mean that Poland is not participating in the “coalition of the willing.”
Earlier, representatives of the new Polish president Karol Nawrocki’s administration also spoke out against sending peacekeepers to Ukraine after the war.
It should be recalled that Donald Trump had stated his readiness to support European peacekeepers in Ukraine.
