27.09.2025 13:31Britain’s King Charles III managed to persuade U.S. President Donald Trump that Ukraine can change the situation on the battlefield and win the war against Russia.
This was reported by The Telegraph, citing diplomatic sources.
According to the publication, during the Americans’ visit, the monarch delivered a speech at the state banquet in which he made special mention of Ukraine.
“Our countries have close ties in defense, security, and intelligence. In two world wars, we fought together against the forces of tyranny. Today, as tyranny once again threatens Europe, we and our allies support Ukraine to contain aggression and ensure peace,” the monarch said, addressing Trump.
It is also noted that Charles and the U.S. President discussed the war in Ukraine during their one-on-one talks.
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, in turn, told European colleagues that Trump’s change in tone should be assessed “as positively as possible.”
Earlier, media reported that during Trump’s visit to Windsor, he patted King Charles III on the back. According to established protocol, one should not touch the king unless he initiates it. The only exception is a handshake if the monarch himself offers his hand.
Media also wrote that Trump’s plane, en route to the United Kingdom, narrowly avoided a collision with a passenger flight over New York.
