02.04.2026 - 18:02In Lviv, an unknown man fatally stabbed an employee of the Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support.
This was reported by the National Police press service on its Facebook page.
According to police, during the notification of citizens — the official term for actions when enlistment officers and police check documents and issue draft notices — an unknown man stabbed a TCRSC serviceman in the neck and then fled.
“Today, April 2, at about 2:15 p.m., a report was received on the 102 emergency line that on Patona Street in Lviv, during notification activities, an unknown person stabbed a TCRSC serviceman in the neck and then fled. Despite the efforts of doctors, the victim died in hospital from his injuries,” the police said.
Criminal police operatives, investigators, patrol officers, and personnel from other police services were deployed to solve the crime. Investigators from the territorial police unit, under the procedural supervision of the Frankivsk District Prosecutor’s Office, opened criminal proceedings under Paragraph 8, Part 2, Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (premeditated murder). The article provides for a sentence of 10 to 15 years in prison or life imprisonment.
A police special operation was carried out to apprehend the suspect. He was caught shortly afterward in hot pursuit.
According to local Telegram channels, the victim was Senior Lieutenant of Justice Oleh Avdiiev, born in 1973, an officer in the group for reviewing and handling administrative offenses, who at the time of the attack was patrolling the city together with police.
During a document check near the Korol Napoyiv store on Vyhovskoho Street, an unknown man approached him and suddenly stabbed him in the neck, then fled.
Media outlets also report that the suspect in the killing is Andrii Trush, born in 1991, a state inspector with the Lviv customs service.
