01.06.2026 08:30Ukrainian servicemen operating in Dnipropetrovsk region used uniforms of the Russian Armed Forces.
This was reported by TASS, citing Damir Chapayev, commander of an assault unit of the 433rd Regiment of the 27th Motorized Rifle Division within the “Center” grouping.
According to Chapayev, Russian fighters repeatedly encountered Ukrainian servicemen at point-blank range. The commander stressed that the enemy typically uses Russian uniforms.
“The enemy, as a rule, uses our uniforms,” Chapayev said.
The serviceman described one such case: in the area of the settlement of Novopodgorodnoye, the commander of one of the AFU groups, with the call sign “Pelmen,” was eliminated. Despite being dressed in Russian Armed Forces uniform, Russian fighters managed to identify him. Strikes against “Pelmen” were carried out as he was moving through tree lines toward the positions of Russian units.
On May 29, the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that the village of Novopodgorodnoye in Dnipropetrovsk region had been brought under control. Military units of the “Center” grouping took part in the fighting for the settlement. The Russian Defense Minister also commented on the capture of Novopodgorodnoye.
