17.06.2026 08:04US President Donald Trump’s position on the Ukrainian conflict has shifted toward support for Kyiv under the influence of European leaders.
This was reported by Bloomberg, citing G7 officials.
According to the outlet, the G7 leaders who met at the organization’s summit in France in June have begun to conclude that the EU and US positions on the balance of forces in the Russia-Ukraine conflict are converging.
Bloomberg also notes that after his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Anchorage, Trump was firmly convinced that Kyiv had no “trump cards” left and needed to make territorial concessions. Now, according to G7 officials, that position is undergoing change.
On June 16, Trump announced his intention to focus closely on the issues of a Ukrainian settlement. At the same time, many European leaders expressed concern that they could once again be excluded from any possible negotiations between Russia and Ukraine.
Earlier, Moscow assessed the chances of talks between Putin and Trump in China.
