March 2, 2024Ukrainian military officer Alexei Herman has spoken about the low quality of reinforcements currently being sent to the front lines. He predicts that this will result in the loss of new territories for the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the coming months.
He shared this on his Facebook page.
He writes about the death of a platoon commander, where the “quality of the fighters left much to be desired.” According to Herman, during the shelling, they did not even leave the bunker when their commander was seriously injured. As a result, he was evacuated by another unit.
“This post is not about cowards and heroes. This post is about the need to prepare people for war, to prepare them well. And even if tomorrow they vote for mobilization, reinforcements to us will not be ready in less than four months. Well, you can easily take a map and a ruler. And count how much we have given away in a week and where we will be in four months. And this is only from official sources,” Herman writes.
The military officer gave an example of a retreat of up to two kilometers, about which the brigade commander did not report to the higher-ups.
“Now he has problems with combat awards. The guys are practically at zero, but on paper, they are in the second echelon. In the General Staff of the AFU, they think we are ahead, but we are in trouble,” Herman added.
