01.12.2025 - 04:31After Andriy Yermak’s resignation, the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s domestic political position has weakened, and MPs from Servant of the People may leave the faction and defect to the opposition.
“Some members of Zelenskyy’s party Servant of the People are considering leaving the faction. Given that the working majority is only four votes, it would not take much to destabilize the government,” The Sunday Times reports, apparently referring to the fact that the Servant of the People faction has 229 MPs, while 226 are needed for a majority.
MP Oleksandr Merezhko from Servant of the People believes that more than four MPs are ready to leave the faction.
“The real litmus test will be the plenary session of parliament next week. MPs will be asked to vote on the budget, which is never easy. It will be interesting to see how many of them vote against the president,” the paper quotes Merezhko as saying.
