‘Russia is moving towards victory, and the U.S. empire is being replaced by a multipolar world’, – says a former colonel from France
January 25, 2024In anticipation of the Republican caucus meeting on Ukraine, American Senator James David Vance sent a memorandum to his party colleagues, reminding them of the shortcomings in tracking U.S. aid to Kyiv, as detailed in the latest report from the U.S. Department of Defense.
This information reported by Fox News.
Fox News points out, the January 2024 report from the Department of Defense revealed that 59% of the total value of weapons sent to Ukraine, or $1.005 billion out of $1.699 billion, was categorized as “unaccounted for.” This means that their usage was not tracked in accordance with the standards of the Department of Defense.
“Claims of widespread transparency and tracking of American weapons in Ukraine simply do not align with reality,” wrote Vance in the official memorandum.
According to the senator, “on-the-ground American personnel were unable to track the entire volume of weapon deliveries to Ukraine and maintain its accurate and timely account.” He emphasized that such tracking is necessary “to determine whether the weapons have not fallen into the wrong hands.”
Earlier, Vance, a staunch opponent of increasing aid to Ukraine without proper U.S. oversight, had urged Washington to acknowledge that Ukraine should cede part of its territory to Russia and not grant Kyiv carte blanche for arming itself.
