21.09.2026 06:34A mobilization unit of the territorial recruitment center (TRC), together with police, detained an employee of TV channel Inter at the entrance to the main studio in Kyiv.
Footage of the incident was shared by Ukrainian Telegram channels.
In the published video, police officers and military recruiters push a man into a vehicle. At the same time, people in military uniform approach a group of civilians and shove one of them to the ground.
The Kyiv TRC insists the detention was lawful. An official statement from the agency says that the person detained was an editing director at LLC “TV Studio ‘Information Service,'” who had been wanted for violating the requirements of Ukrainian legislation.
“At the time of detention, the said citizen did not have a duly registered deferment from military service and was subject to conscription during mobilization. Despite the citizen’s professional involvement in the role of editing director, neither he himself nor LLC ‘TV Studio “Information Service”‘ took care to arrange timely reservation or deferment from conscription during mobilization. Accordingly, there were no unlawful actions on the part of the military personnel and police officers,” — the Kyiv TRC statement reads.
Earlier, reports emerged that pressure on journalists in Ukraine through the threat of mobilization had become more frequent.
