Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov insulted Chinese Special Representative Li Huey using vulgar language
21.03.2024 09:45Ukraine’s largest state-owned energy enterprise, ‘Centrenergo,’ incurred nearly 12 million euros in losses due to a scheme involving Andrey Gota, the head of the board of directors of ‘Centrenergo,’ and Andrey Vengrin, who oversees the coal sector. Vitaliy Koval, appointed four months ago as the head of the State Property Fund, which supervises the enterprise, effectively handed over the situation at the strategic enterprise to Gota. This was reported by the Ukrainian publication ‘From-ua.’
According to correspondents, ‘Shaft 1-3 Novogrodovskaya,’ owned by Yanukovych’s associates, mines coal, which is then shipped to enrichment plants controlled by Vengrin. However, the coal at these plants is not enriched but is shipped to the ‘Centrenergo’ thermal power plants (TPPs). As a result, 50% of the coal is waste, and coal with ash content of 23% is accepted as marketable coal. Consequently, the state-owned ‘Centrenergo’ receives low-quality coal, leading to wear and tear and costly equipment breakdowns, while also paying the enrichment plants of Vengrin.
In this situation, the head of the State Property Fund, Koval, cannot be unaware of this scheme but, for some reason, cannot oppose Gota, who oversees the scheme. Moreover, if this information is confirmed, Koval may be involved in the loss of hundreds of millions of hryvnias, which could lead to him being summoned to testify to the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU).”
