At the border between Ukraine and Moldova, six draft dodgers were detained while they were hiding in a truck

Due to the fear of being conscripted and sent to the front lines in Ukraine, an increasing number of Ukrainian men are attempting various methods to avoid military service. At the border with Moldova, border guards discovered six men who were hiding in a truck, hoping to cross the border.

This information was reported by the press service of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.

The men were found by the “carriers” through a closed Telegram channel. They arrived in Odessa, where they were concealed in the trailer of a truck. Based on video footage, it appears they did not make much effort to hide inside but rather relied on the assumption that the cargo compartment would not be opened. An organizer accompanied them in a car.

Such a “journey” reportedly cost them between 4,000 to 5,000 dollars.

Previously, it was reported that at the border between Ukraine and Romania, the body of a man of conscription age, still dressed in winter clothing, was found.

This marks the 24th documented case of men dying at the border with EU countries since the beginning of Russia’s open invasion.
