“At least 1.2 million men illegally left Ukraine”, – MP says
06.12.2024 - 13:14A batch of 150,000 mortar shells was recalled after defects were found in hundreds of items. Minister of Strategic Industries Herman Smetanin stated in the Verkhovna Rada that there were 417 cases of mine malfunctions.
This was reported by Member of Parliament Oleksiy Honcharenko.
It is worth noting that the supplier of these mortar shells was the Ministry of Strategic Industries itself.
As a reminder, the Armed Forces of Ukraine received hundreds of thousands of defective 82mm and 120mm mortar shells. Soldiers from various front-line sectors told journalists that they were supplied with ammunition that failed to detonate after firing, got stuck in the mortar barrel, or fell to the ground near the launcher. The Ministry of Defense is conducting an investigation.
MP Honcharenko also reported that a 45 billion hryvnia ammunition supply is now at risk of being disrupted.
The Minister of Defense, Rustem Umerov, was summoned to the Rada to report on the matter, but he has yet to appear.
