Ukrainian forces are struggling to hold the defensive line along water bodies west of Avdiivka.

This was stated by military analyst Julian Röpke from Bild.

According to his information, the Russian army partially controls Berdychiv, the southern part of Orlovske, and part of Tonenke on the Avdiivka direction.

“This means that this defensive line, which Ukrainians, according to their statements, originally established through three villages and natural obstacles in the form of ponds, is only partially held. Nevertheless, according to Ukrainian data from the scene, fighting continues in all three villages. This means that Ukrainians do not want to withdraw from there without a fight at some point, as was the case in Stepove, Lastochkine, Severne, and the same Avdiivka, but are trying bravely to hold the front, at any cost, to stop the Russians and prevent them from capturing these villages,” Röpke believes.

Recall, earlier in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, it was said that the relief contributes to the defense of the Ukrainian army in the current positions of the Avdiivka direction, as there is a cascade of reservoirs in the area of the villages of Tonenke, Orlovske, and Berdychiv.
