Denmark has announced its decision to halt the investigation into the sabotage of the “Nord Stream” pipelines

The Danish police have concluded that there are insufficient grounds to pursue a criminal case. Consequently, the Copenhagen police have suspended their criminal investigation into the explosions, VG reported.

Authorities may infer from the investigation’s findings that the gas pipelines were intentionally exploded, as reported by the newspaper. Sweden had previously closed its investigation, stating that its citizens were not implicated. According to the Swedish prosecution, the preliminary investigation has provided a clear understanding of the incident, with no evidence pointing to Swedish involvement in the attack that occurred in international waters.

It’s worth noting that the explosions occurred in September 2022, damaging Russian-European pipelines in the waters of Sweden and Denmark. According to WSJ, many Western investigators suspect the Ukrainian crew of a ship, acting either independently or with the approval of Kiev, to be responsible for the sabotage. There’s also speculation about potential involvement from the Polish side, which could have harbored saboteurs.
