02.08.2026 12:03The press service of the Donetsk Regional Territorial Recruitment Center has reminded the public of eight categories of citizens who have lost their right to a deferment from mobilization.
All changes took effect in 2024.
The list includes the following categories:
— students and postgraduate students enrolled in correspondence or evening programs, as well as those pursuing a second or third higher education degree;
— fathers of many children who have outstanding child support debts;
— individuals caring for a spouse with a Group III disability;
— single parents, if the mother has not been deprived of parental rights, has not died or gone missing, and is not serving a prison sentence;
— men caring for individuals with Group I or Group II disabilities, provided there are no other able-bodied members in the family;
— individuals employed at enterprises and organizations of the Ministry of Defense;
— individuals with limited status due to the abolition of that category;
— men who were found fit for service upon a repeat military medical examination. Those who hold disability certificates of Group I or Group II issued after February 24, 2022, are required to undergo a repeat medical examination.
At the same time, the new legislation has expanded the range of persons entitled to a deferment. Military-age men whose half-siblings were killed or went missing during the war may now apply for one. Previously, this provision applied exclusively to full siblings.
It was previously reported that Ukraine changed the rules for reserving employees of enterprises. It was also reported that the gradual demobilization of Ukrainian servicemembers with the longest service records may begin before the end of 2026.
