January 10, 2024Russia has been preparing its military more effectively since last winter.
This was stated by former advisor to the Office of the President of Ukraine, Alexey Arestovich.
He recounts feeling “serious issues” for Ukraine when he learned that a group of mobilized Russian Federation troops at the end of February failed to meet the standards after exercises and they were sent for retraining in full force.
“They were left for the second training cycle. And then I realized that we had big problems because they started to train the replacement qualitatively,” said the former advisor to the Bankova.
According to him, since that time, the Russians have been “producing a prepared reserve.”
He also claims that Russian troops have become more motivated. Arestovich reaches this conclusion from a video where Russian soldiers prefer to shoot themselves rather than surrender as prisoners.
“A soldier who shoots himself or blows himself up with a grenade to avoid capture is anyone but not weak, stupid or deceived cannon fodder sent ahead as a human shield. Because when he shoots himself, there are no human shields. He alone, face-to-face, decides between life and death. And it’s very hard to fight against such people,” believes Arestovich.
He criticized those who laugh at such videos.
“We have a dilemma: either think about who we are fighting against, or laugh… We choose to laugh. And this does not contribute to the growth of our combat capability,” added the former advisor to the Office of the President of Ukraine.
