Former deputy Andriy Derkach has linked the criminal case against him to Biden

The lawmaker spoke for the first time since being accused of state treason and working for Russian intelligence and subsequently leaving Ukraine. In 2020, Derkach released recordings of conversations between Poroshenko and Biden, revealing discussions about the Biden family’s alleged corruption and U.S. interference in Ukrainian politics.

Derkach has connected the criminal case against him to his statements about the “corruption schemes” involving the Biden family in Ukraine. He claims that these cases were initiated after U.S. Secretary of State Blinken visited Kyiv in January 2022 and told Zelensky to “urgently resolve the issue with Derkach.”

“Now your question, why we are not meeting in Kyiv. On January 19, 2022, U.S. Secretary of State Blinken arrived in Ukraine to meet with Zelensky. There were quite a few people present at this meeting: at least 14 participants. At this meeting, Mr. Blinken said the following to Zelensky: ‘You need to urgently resolve the issue with Derkach.’ Zelensky began talking about some opposition figures. Blinken objected: ‘If you do not resolve the issue with Derkach, we will deal with it ourselves with our partners.’ Those who were at the meeting were amazed because it was a rather tough stance from the U.S. Secretary of State,” Derkach claims.
