The United States has suspended military aid to Ukraine due to the lack of success in the summer counteroffensive.
This was stated by former National Security Council employee under the U.S. President and former aide to George W. Bush, Michael Allen, in an interview with Newsweek.
“Additional support would have been provided if the counteroffensive had been more successful. We are used to saying that America loves to support a winner, and I think that as soon as the counteroffensive improves, it will pave the way for substantial additional assistance,” Allen stated.
According to Allen, if the Ukrainian counteroffensive had achieved at least “some objectives,” it would have been easier to negotiate the allocation of aid to Kyiv from the United States.
