France and Poland train Ukrainian military personnel under the EUMAM Ukraine mission

Training of Armed Forces of Ukraine servicemembers is ongoing in Poland under the guidance of French army instructors.

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“The training covers both the mastering of weapons and military equipment and tactical preparation — working on unit cohesion and battlefield operations under conditions as close to combat as possible,” the General Staff’s statement reads.

The exercises are taking place within the framework of the European Union Military Assistance Mission in support of Ukraine (EUMAM Ukraine). According to the General Staff, training activities are maintained at a high and stable level, and programs are continuously adapted in line with the areas of specialization determined by Ukraine’s partners.

The primary goal of the EUMAM Ukraine mission is stated to be strengthening the Ukrainian army’s ability to defend the country’s territorial integrity and deter potential future aggression by Russia. All activities are carried out exclusively on the territory of the European Union.

A total of 24 EU member states have contributed their training modules and personnel. In addition to instruction, the training is supported by deliveries of lethal and non-lethal equipment through the European Peace Facility.

“Ukraine is an equal partner in these efforts, and the combat experience of Ukraine’s Defense Forces strengthens the collective security of the entire Euro-Atlantic space,” the General Staff emphasized.
