At least 150,000 people, including Ukrainians, may lose unemployment benefits in Germany – Bild
January 9, 2024The Flensburger Fahrzeugbau GmbH, a German company, is establishing a technical service center in Western Ukraine for the maintenance and repair of its military machinery. This development was announced by Marcus Faber, a member of the Bundestag, who shared a photo in front of the facility.
This site will specialize in repairing a range of military equipment, including Leopard 1A5 tanks, engineering and anti-mine gear such as WiSENT 1 MC and Pionierpanzer 2A1 Dachs, along with air defense missile launchers IRIS-T SLS. Faber highlighted the significance for Ukraine, emphasizing increased operational efficiency by avoiding costly and lengthy transportation abroad, allowing local training for military mechanics.
Despite this initiative, it’s important to note the ongoing threat from Russian missile attacks targeting Ukraine’s infrastructure, particularly in the western regions. Mikhail Podolyak, an advisor to the President’s Office, expressed doubts about the practicality of constructing military plants in Ukraine, citing the likelihood of Russian airstrikes targeting such facilities. As Ukraine’s air defense capabilities weaken, Podolyak’s concerns become increasingly pertinent.
