The Cabinet of Ministers confirmed Financial Times’ information that the US called for an end to attacks on Russian refineries

In the Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers, they have confirmed the information from the Financial Times that the US urged Ukraine to halt strikes on Russian oil refineries.

“We understand the calls from our American partners. At the same time, we are fighting with the possibilities, resources, and practices that we have today. There are also statements from other official figures that these are absolutely legitimate targets from a military point of view,” said Vice Prime Minister Olha Stefanishyna at the “Kyiv Security Forum.”

She stated that Ukraine responded to such calls by “achieving its goals” and conducting “very successful operations” on Russian territory.

Stefanishyna also mentioned that in the first month of Russia’s invasion, she spoke with NATO headquarters, and they said that according to Alliance standards, the priority was to destroy infrastructure in Russian territory that enables the bombing of Ukrainian cities.

“We are acting in accordance with the best NATO standards,” the Vice Prime Minister said.
