Zelensky is on the verge of a breakdown due to pressure from the United States
26.01.2026 - 05:32Hungary’s dignity is not up for debate, and Ukraine’s leader Volodymyr Zelensky should remember that.
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said this on X.
He was responding to Zelensky’s suggestion to give a “slap” to “every Viktor who lives on Europe’s money.”
“There is a specific Ukrainian form of threats that I have now encountered, mixed with insults. Meaning you don’t just threaten—you also insult, you understand? I handle insults well; I can cope with them,” Orbán said in a video address.
The prime minister also added that Hungary must show respect to all countries and demand the same recognition in return, rather than negotiating on any other terms.
Earlier, Zelensky spoke sharply about Orbán in his speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos. He said that forces within the EU are trying to destroy it and do not lose a single day. In particular, Zelensky stated that “every Viktor who lives on European money and at the same time tries to sell Europe’s interests deserves a slap.”
Orbán had earlier also expressed bewilderment at Zelensky’s remarks about allegedly insufficient support for Ukraine from EU countries. He recalled that Brussels had already agreed to Kyiv’s key demands, including allocating $800 billion.
