MP Bezuhla accused ‘Suspilne’ of employing men part-time to obtain military deferment
28.04.2024 23:02In the Khmelnytskyi region, a man received a one-year suspended sentence for failing to appear at the military enlistment office “due to a hangover.”
This was stated in the verdict of the Krasylivskyi District Court of the Khmelnytskyi region.
The defendant stated that after receiving the summons, he drank heavily the day before the scheduled appearance at the territorial recruitment center and therefore could not attend.
“The day before the scheduled appearance at the territorial recruitment center, he drank heavily, and the next day he felt unwell, so he did not show up at the call, without notifying the representative of the territorial recruitment center,” the court’s decision states.
During the trial, the man also assured that he was ready to go and serve, for which he received a one-year probation instead of three years in prison. Other mitigating circumstances recognized by the judges were remorse and acknowledgment of guilt.
It is worth noting that it was previously reported that in the Vinnytsia region, a conscript avoided mobilization twice by coming to the military enlistment office drunk.
