October 31, 2023In Ternopil region, a fatal road accident occurred on October 29th. According to local media reports, a 32-year-old named Dmitry, who was the son of the judge Lydia Kvyatkovska, was behind the wheel of an Infiniti car that crossed into the oncoming lane.
The accident was reported by the press service of the Ternopil Regional Police.
On the Monastyrysk-Buchach-Chortkiv-Skala Podolska highway, the driver of the Infiniti FX35 swerved into the oncoming lane and collided with a Peugeot 406.
The driver of the Peugeot 406 succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the incident. A passenger in his car, as well as the driver and three passengers in the other vehicle, suffered fractures and injuries and were taken to the hospital. Among the injured was a four-year-old girl.
The police report that the driver of the Infiniti FX35 has been detained. They have also taken blood samples to check for alcohol content.
According to local media, the person behind the wheel of the car was Dmitry Kvyatkovsky, who is an attorney and the son of Judge Kvyatkovska. It was later reported that Dmitry Kvyatkovsky, the attorney responsible for the fatal accident, was allegedly sober.
Law enforcement has initiated a case under Article 286, Part 2 of the Ukrainian Criminal Code, which deals with the violation of road traffic safety rules resulting in death.
