“We are currently witnessing a stalemate,” he told the publication. The expert pointed out that according to military science, a three-to-one troop ratio is necessary for offensive operations. However, the Ukrainian Armed Forces do not possess such an advantage.
He speculated that military actions would continue until “someone has the moral courage to say, ‘Ukraine is unlikely to reclaim all of its territory.'”
Former NATO analyst Dr. Patrick Berry previously stated that the Ukrainian Armed Forces lack the experience to conduct successful operations in larger formations. According to him, Ukrainian troops can engage in combat at the company level, but when transitioning to the next level, up to a battalion, their formations prove to be weak.
