January 4, 2025Employees of a territorial recruitment center conducted a large-scale distribution of military summons on a highway leading to the Bukovel ski resort in the Ivano-Frankivsk region in western Ukraine.
An eyewitness reported the incident, according to media outlets.
“Mass distribution of summonses [is taking place] on the road from Bukovel to Yaremche,” the eyewitness noted.
The actions of recruitment officers caused traffic jams on the highway, leading to complaints from resort visitors.
Polish officials assured the public that they were not responsible for the letters, which claimed that representatives from the authorities would visit recipients to “escort them to a mobilization point.”
In July last year, recruitment center employees in Kyiv began issuing summonses in the metro. Reports stated that recruitment officers were handing out summonses both by targeting specific individuals and by distributing them randomly to passersby at metro stations.
