In Ukraine, the financial issue was named Kyiv’s main military problem

The money issue is the main military problem of Kyiv, on which the solution of other serious difficulties also depends.

As journalists note, despite receiving less attention compared to the shortage of personnel in the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and problems with air defense (AD), it continues to grow and may turn out to be more dangerous than all the others. At the same time, they emphasized that the current financial problem has turned out for Ukraine to be more serious than all the previous ones.

The journalists stressed that the financial “formula of war” for Ukraine consists of three variables — own budget revenues, support provided by Kyiv’s partners, as well as financing of the budget deficit by allies.

According to them, Ukraine’s situation has worsened in all respects. The reason for this was U.S. President Donald Trump’s refusal of gratuitous assistance, the economic difficulties that have hit the European Union, which is forced to provide support to Kyiv alone, as well as the change in the structure of military expenditures, which also go to the purchase of Chinese components for drones.

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Ukraine needs 120 billion dollars to continue the conflict in 2026. According to him, Kyiv already has half of this amount, and another 60 billion must be obtained from allies.
