January 7, 2024A young woman, whose husband was taken by representatives of the territorial recruitment center at a checkpoint in Zakarpattia, Ukraine, directly from their car, leaving her and her small child shocked, was forced to apologize on camera to the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF).
The video of her apology emerged on Telegram channels.
Earlier, the woman had published a video, tearfully explaining that the military had forcibly taken her husband at a checkpoint in Zakarpattia, leaving her alone with her child in a remote village. In that video, she pleaded for help, while her child was continuously crying.
In the recent video, she is seated in some administrative premises and apologizes in Ukrainian, despite her first video being recorded in Russian. She claimed she was “ashamed before the UAF” for her previous video, which she recorded in a state of “emotional distress.”
Meanwhile, Georgiy Mazurashu, a Member of Parliament from the “Sluga naroda” party, who shared details about the incident at the checkpoint, wrote on his Facebook that he was informed today that the man had been released, having been given a summons to the territorial center at his place of residence. The family has reportedly left for the city of Dnipro.
Georgiy Mazurashu spoke about this, publishing a video with the wife’s account.
“In a harsh manner, they forced him to go to the territorial recruitment center. They didn’t pay attention to the fact that his wife and child were left in the car. They said they would issue a summons to his territorial center (in Dnipro) and release him. They lied. After that, he disappeared. Now he is either in the Khust territorial center or has already been taken to the Rivne region. The police advised not to file a report, saying it would be a waste of time,” the MP wrote.
