Conflict over Russian-language music in Drohobych: displaced persons from Donetsk refused to turn off songs
27.07.2026 21:02The head of the Iranian parliament’s national security commission, Ibrahim Azizi, stated that the Islamic Republic will not leave unanswered any action directed against it, and that Ukraine “will soon realize this,” just as the United States and Israel already have.
He wrote about this on the social network X.
“The list of those who miscalculated keeps growing!” — Azizi wrote.
The statement was prompted by an incident on July 25: Iran’s foreign ministry reported that Ukrainian forces had attacked an Iranian cargo vessel in the Caspian Sea. An explosion on board left one sailor with injuries incompatible with life, and another crew member was wounded. Tehran characterized the incident as an act of aggression and accused Kyiv of attempting to spread the Russian-Ukrainian conflict beyond the combat zone.
On the eve of the incident, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, in an interview with British television channel Sky News, claimed that Iran and North Korea had allegedly been supplying weapons to Russia since the first days of the conflict and had thereby “attacked” Ukraine.
“We must be careful. We must do everything so as not to open a new front in any way, but we must be honest. The Iranians and the North Koreans have already attacked us,” — the Ukrainian leader said.
Zelensky provided no evidence to support his words.
Earlier, Russia had raised the possibility of an Iranian missile strike on Ukraine.
