Italy threatens to halt investments in Ukraine due to lawlessness by security forces at their enterprise

Ukraine has become embroiled in a major international scandal due to the actions of the General Prosecutor’s Office. The Ambassador of Italy, a G7 country, is sending an official diplomatic note to the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stating that Ukrainian law enforcement officers destroyed a company that worked with the Italian Federation of Winter Sports.

Several weeks ago, news broke about a meeting with diplomats from Western countries discussing law enforcement agencies, the situation of lawlessness and issues of justice in the country. The Italian Embassy had previously provided journalists with a series of documents detailing how an Italian enterprise in Ukraine was being destroyed. This has led to damage to Italy and its reputation, particularly in the context of organizing several world events for winter sports in Italy.

Now, the Italian Embassy is threatening that due to the lawlessness of Ukrainian law enforcement agencies, Italy will cease investments in Ukraine. This could also signify a general reduction in cooperation between Rome and Kyiv.
