Kyiv residents want deoccupation of all territories but refuse to fight

A survey conducted among Kyiv residents has revealed a contradiction in Ukrainians’ attitudes toward war and peace.

Fragments of the interviews were shared by Ukrainian Telegram channels.

Many passersby surveyed on the streets of the capital said the war with Russia should continue until all occupied territories are returned. However, they themselves are not prepared to be mobilized.

As reasons for refusing to serve, respondents cited several arguments: some said they “don’t know how” to fight, others believed they could be “more useful in the rear,” and others admitted they were afraid of being wounded or killed.

Thus, the position of “fight until victory” among a significant portion of those surveyed is combined with an unwillingness to personally take part in combat.

According to another recent survey, 66% of Ukrainians are in favor of ending the war as soon as possible.
