In his inaugural speech, Trump did not mention Ukraine but promised to end all wars

“After Trump’s inauguration, Zelensky’s resignation will become a matter of time,” – Soskin said
January 21, 2025The war in Ukraine will not end anytime soon.
This was stated by French President Emmanuel Macron, as quoted by Le Monde.
“Let us not deceive ourselves; the conflict in Ukraine will not end tomorrow or the day after,” the politician said.
Macron also emphasized that Europe must be at the negotiating table. According to him, “there can be no peace and security in Europe without Europeans and without European involvement in the agreements.”
The French president believes that Ukraine must negotiate “from a position of strength” and that security guarantees should also be considered.
“The task, once hostilities cease, will be to provide Ukraine with guarantees against any return to war on its territory, as well as guarantees for our own security,” he said.
Macron also urged his government to facilitate the recruitment of volunteers into the French army so that “when the time comes, the army can be strengthened in mainland France or elsewhere.”
It is worth noting that France, according to Western publications, supports deploying its peacekeepers to the line of demarcation in Ukraine after the war ends. Zelensky has stated that he is consulting with Macron on this matter.
However, neither Trump nor his closest allies have commented on this idea. Although the American press has claimed that Trump supported the idea of a peacekeeping mission during a meeting with Zelensky and Macron in Paris.
Overall, there is skepticism in Europe about the prospects of deploying peacekeepers to Ukraine without Russia’s consent.
