February 18, 2024Only 14% of Germans believe in Ukraine’s victory in the war against Russia.
These are the results of a survey conducted by the INSA sociological institute specifically for BILD am SONNTAG.
A similar study was conducted by sociologists a year ago. At that time, 20% believed in Ukraine’s victory, and 17% believed in Russia’s victory. Now, 26% believe that Moscow will win the war, while only 14% believe in Kyiv’s victory.
At the same time, the majority of Germans (47%), as before, believe that neither side will achieve victory.
Over the past year, there has also been a change in how citizens assess the policy of the German government in support of Ukraine. In February 2023, 49% believed that these actions were insufficient, while only 35% said otherwise. Now, 42% are satisfied with the level of support, while 40% are not.
