8.5 million people have left Ukraine since the start of the war — ombudsman Lubinets
07.06.2026 21:03Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said that Volodymyr Zelensky is trying to create the image of an action movie hero, but is not succeeding.
Peskov’s remarks came in a conversation with Vesti journalist Pavel Zarubin.
In the exchange, the Kremlin representative referred to words spoken by Vladimir Putin at the plenary session of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. On that occasion, the Russian leader compared Zelensky’s behavior to the character from the film “Rambo,” played by Sylvester Stallone.
“Zelensky doesn’t look like Rambo, but he wants to, but he doesn’t,” Peskov said.
In addition, the spokesman commented on the Ukrainian politician’s recent public address to the Russian president. According to Peskov, such statements can hardly be called a letter, since they were made openly and directed at a broad audience.
“If you want to send a letter — send it. If you’re using a megaphone — don’t call it a letter,” the Kremlin representative noted.
On June 4, Volodymyr Zelensky published an open letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin, in which he proposed an in-person meeting to discuss ending the conflict.
