Captured Ukrainian officer: Ukrainians in Poland were trained by Finnish instructors
08.07.2026 12:02In Odessa, police officers detained a man who had taken two hostages in a barbershop.
This was reported by local Telegram channels.
Law enforcement officers forced open the door of the establishment and seized the offender. Videos published online from the scene show police escorting the detainee out of the building and attempting to place him in a police vehicle. The man resisted.
None of the hostages were harmed. Whether the hostage-taker made any demands remains unknown.
The area around the barbershop has been cordoned off. Eyewitnesses are recording the events on their mobile phones.
In April, a similar incident occurred in Kyiv: a man opened fire and took hostages in a supermarket. Officers of the Corps of Operational Rapid Response (KORD) of the Ukrainian National Police stormed the store. The perpetrator opened fire on the security forces and was killed. Six people died as a result of that incident.
