Death of people near a closed shelter in Kyiv: the guard who did not open the door was sentenced to four years in prison
July 30, 2024Predictions about the war in Ukraine stopping in 2024 have not come true, and it will definitely continue into 2025.
This was stated by Ukraine’s Finance Minister, Serhiy Marchenko.
“When preparing the program with the IMF, one of the key parameters determined that the active phase of the war would last until mid-2024. As we can see, this forecast did not materialize. Therefore, we are constantly discussing with our partners that we need additional financial guarantees because the war will continue in 2025 and we need to have a buffer,” Marchenko said.
According to the minister, an additional $12-15 billion will be needed from Western partners in 2025.
Earlier, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze stated that the war in Ukraine would end in 2025.
He said on the Imedi TV channel that it would end regardless of who comes to power in the US—Kamala Harris or Donald Trump.
According to Kobakhidze, if the Democrats win, the hostilities will end “within a year,” and if the Republicans win, even sooner.
It should be noted that President Volodymyr Zelensky recently announced that by the end of November, Ukraine would present a draft peace agreement. The Ukrainian president also mentioned plans to end the war by the end of the year.
Earlier, NATO predicted that the war in Ukraine would last for several more years.
