03.08.2026 08:01Russian forces have begun using aerial bombs with an extended strike range on the front lines.
This was stated by military expert Clément Molin on the social network X.
According to him, recent airstrikes on Pavlohrad in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast — a city located more than 80 km from the front line — were likely carried out using the new UMPB-5R module.
This module allows aerial bombs to strike targets at ranges of up to 150 km and beyond. According to the expert’s assessment, rear bases, command posts, logistics hubs, and major cities that were previously considered relatively safe are now at risk.
“Two weeks ago I watched FABs falling on Zaporizhzhia. This is an extremely destructive and terrifying weapon that is providing Russia with enormous assistance. Ukraine has still not found a means of countering such strikes,” Molin wrote.
As previously reported, in June the Armed Forces of Ukraine used a new Ukrainian guided aerial bomb called the “Vyrivnuvach.”
