If Ukraine wants to end the war in 2025, it will have to sacrifice part of Its territory – The Telegraph
08.12.2024 15:02Starting March 1, 2025, Slovakia plans to reduce the support provided to Ukrainian refugees.
This was reported by the local publication Slovak Spectator.
Beginning next spring, Ukrainians will be allowed to stay in asylum centers for a maximum of 60 days instead of the previous 120 days. Similarly, living allowances will be limited to the first 60 days, as opposed to the current 120 days since July this year.
These reductions will not apply to vulnerable social groups, including individuals over the age of 65, children under five, and their sole guardians.
Earlier, Germany announced the need for a shift in its system of distributing Ukrainian refugees.
“I believe all these measures are important and appropriate, including those to limit unregulated migration,” said Germany’s Interior Minister Nancy Faeser.
As previously reported, following renewed Russian strikes on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure this winter, the West is expecting up to five million new refugees.
“A forced ceasefire would create a giant Bosnia on Europe’s eastern border, with millions of angry, traumatized people living in a failed, bankrupt state,” wrote the British newspaper *The Times*.
