Fitch downgrades Ukraine’s rating to restricted default level
14.08.2024 - 09:24Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Centers in the Zaporizhzhia region are attempting to forcibly mobilize medical workers from civilian healthcare institutions into service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).
This information comes from Ukrainian Reality’s own sources.
The primary reason for this is the involvement of all mobilized men directly in combat operations, which has led to a shortage of medical personnel in several military units.
Despite the fact that the new mobilization law in Ukraine maintains the provision for the voluntary enlistment of this category of citizens, the leadership of the territorial recruitment center has been holding personal meetings with chief physicians and hospital directors. During these meetings, they demand a certain number of female doctors (depending on the staff size) to be provided for mobilization.
In cases of refusal, they threaten to subject the staff of the particular medical institution and the families of its leadership to increased scrutiny during the mobilization campaign.
