The average age of Ukrainian soldiers on the front lines is reported to be 43 years old. Those who volunteered to fight at the beginning of the war are now “morally and physically exhausted, and there is a shortage of younger fighters to replace them”.

This information reported according to the British publication The Sunday Times.

“Most of the troops holding back the invasion of President Putin’s army are middle-aged men, whose limited physical abilities complicate the military planning in Kyiv,” the article states.

Ukrainian commanders mention, “It is difficult to perform tasks at this age. For some, even carrying ammunition and body armor to the front lines is challenging.” They also note that “people are running out, and the quality of reinforcements is getting lower and lower each time.”

It’s worth recalling that the commander of the 5th Separate Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the average age of soldiers in the Ukrainian army is well over 40, and the situation with personnel is critical. He stated that in his unit, there are “very few” young soldiers.

Earlier, an advisor to the head of the Office of the President, Sergei Leshchenko, stated that the average age of soldiers in some units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is 54 years old.
