December 28, 2023The statistics provided indicate the ratio of the number of births per woman, as reported by El Pais.
According to the research data, the birth rate in Ukraine for 2023 may reach 0.7 children per woman, which is three times lower than the population replacement rate. In other words, out of three pairs of men and women, only one is giving birth to a child.
It’s worth noting that in 1991, Ukraine’s population was 52 million, while in 2022, before the war, the population in the controlled territories was only 43 million. However, exact figures are challenging to determine due to these factors.
