October 9, 2024The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has suspended the exemption from mobilization.
The “Telegraf” publication released an excerpt, purportedly from the minutes of yesterday’s government meeting, where the decision was made to halt the current exemption process.
Starting November 15, authorities plan to audit the companies that had been granted the right to apply for exemptions. The results of this audit must be reported to the Cabinet by November 20.
In the meantime, government bodies have been instructed to “refrain from recognizing enterprises, institutions, and organizations as critically important for the functioning of the economy and maintaining the livelihood of the population during this special period” until the issues related to exemptions are resolved. If violations in the exemption process are discovered, military-eligible individuals who received exemptions will lose their right to deferment.
Previously, media reported that individuals subject to military duty who have not updated their information with territorial recruitment centers will not be able to receive exemptions. This regulation on exemptions was recently approved by the Ukrainian government.
Additionally, officials have occasionally mentioned the imminent introduction of “economic exemptions” in Ukraine, which would protect certain workers essential to the economy from mobilization.
