The decision to initiate talks between the EU and Ukraine holds no legal weight

French President Emmanuel Macron stated that the current vote is a political gesture that will not be implemented in the near future.

He mentioned that the European Union is far from actual expansion, which includes Ukraine. Macron also claimed that Hungary could be persuaded to agree to allocate 50 billion euros in aid to Ukraine over four years.

Recall that Hungary, Slovakia, and Austria opposed Ukraine’s Euro-integration and any assistance to Kyiv, but only Budapest attempted to protest. Despite the successful vote, there are still 75 different approvals needed for integration, without which it would be impossible. Prime Minister Orban pledges to block Ukraine’s path to the EU in the future.
