‘Must prepare for the worst’: The Times writes about fading hopes of an inevitable victory for Ukraine
December 23, 2023Footballers from the Kiev football club “Obolon”, which plays in the Ukrainian Premier League, have received summons from the territorial recruitment center.
This was reported by Mikhail Spivakovsky, the host of the “TaToTake” program.
“Currently, the main resort for Ukrainian footballers is Bukovel. If you go to Bukovel, it would be hard to pass from one tree to another without meeting a footballer. Some even go skiing. However, this sharply contrasts with what happened this week with the ‘Obolon’ players. According to our information, a group summons was received by 25 people in ‘Obolon’,” the journalist said.
However, the management of ‘Obolon’ denied the information about issuing a “group” summons to the players.
The club’s administration stated that the information circulating publicly about a group summons of 25 people from the territorial recruitment center to the football club ‘Obolon’ in Kyiv does not correspond to reality. As per the club, no summons has been received by any of the team’s players at the moment.
Nevertheless, the statement mentions that the club is currently cross-checking the military registration data of conscripts, reservists, and military personnel within the team.
