“The head of the Presidential Office, Yermak, appears in the ‘Mindich tapes’ as Ali Baba,” – an MP said

Head of the President’s Office Andriy Yermak also appears on the wiretap recordings of conversations among Tymur Mindich’s associates, where he is referred to as “Ali Baba.”

This was stated in a video on his YouTube channel by MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak from the Holos party.

The head of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, Oleksandr Klymenko, had mentioned such a figure in the investigation. According to him, after the scandal over the investigation, Ali Baba began holding meetings with law enforcement officials devoted to how to stop the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and punish its detectives.

According to Zheleznyak’s sources, Ali Baba is Yermak. The nickname is derived from his initials: Andriy Borysovych – A.B. – Ali Baba. Maryana Bezuhla has also written about the origin of this nickname:

“In our ‘political family,’ Yermak is usually called (coded) simply and modestly: A.B. Yes, behind these seemingly obvious initials there is his extended ‘call sign’: Alla Borysivna. Why this tradition and what the singer has to do with it, I don’t know,” Bezuhla wrote.

“And since he has his own special nickname, I get the feeling he was perfectly aware of all this activity in Zuckerman’s office and at Mindich’s apartment,” Zheleznyak said. The MP added that Yermak was aware of the corruption schemes and was in close contact with Mindich, who, according to his version, helped Yermak get appointed head of the President’s Office.

In Zheleznyak’s opinion, Yermak also led the summer operation to strip NABU and SAP (the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office) of their powers. At that time, he was dissuading Volodymyr Zelensky from making any concessions in the confrontation with the anti-corruption bodies and continues to do so now.

Zheleznyak believes that Yermak should be dismissed from the post of head of the President’s Office, but doubts Zelensky will go for it.

Recall that the resignation of Yermak and of Yulia Svyrydenko’s government is one of the main intermediate goals of the “anti-Zelensky coalition,” which is currently running a campaign against the president.
