The idea of Ukraine remaining neutral no longer makes sense: Zelensky and Yermak met with former Secretary of State Kissinger in the US

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and the Head of the Presidential Office, Andriy Yermak, met with former U.S. Secretary of State Henry Kissinger during their visit to the United States.

Andriy Yermak announced this meeting on his Telegram channel.

Kissinger was present at Zelensky’s meeting with influential American entrepreneurs, but he was not mentioned in the official press release from the Presidential Office on September 22nd. He could be identified in a group photo by the back of his head.

However, on September 24th, Andriy Yermak published a separate post about the meeting with Kissinger. Based on the photos, it appears that Zelensky had a separate conversation with him after the initial group meeting.

“I was very pleased to meet and have a truly deep conversation. Henry Kissinger is currently one of Ukraine’s lobbyists within NATO. Grateful for an excellent meeting,” wrote Yermak.

Yermak also mentioned that Kissinger had previously been skeptical about Ukraine’s potential NATO membership but has now changed his position on the matter.

Earlier, there was criticism of Kissinger from Ukrainian officials for suggesting ending the conflict in Ukraine along the lines of the Korean scenario, which would mean the current front line. Instead, Kissinger has proposed Ukraine’s accession to NATO.

In late May, Henry Kissinger celebrated his 100th birthday.
