13.03.2025 11:05Russia has confirmed that American negotiators are already en route to Russia.
This was stated by Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov.
According to him, all issues will be discussed in upcoming meetings with a U.S. representative in Moscow.
“Indeed, the negotiators are on their way, and indeed, contacts are planned. After receiving information on the results of the U.S.-Ukraine negotiations, Russia will begin formulating its position. Right now, we are in the process of gathering this information. As for negotiating positions before the talks have even begun—since they haven’t started yet—it would probably be unwise to make public statements prematurely,” Peskov said.
He emphasized that U.S. Congressman Mike Waltz had a phone conversation with Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov. Peskov also mentioned that Vladimir Putin is expected to have an unspecified international conversation this evening.
Meanwhile, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova also confirmed Russia’s readiness to discuss contacts with the Americans.
“Russia has reviewed the U.S. and Ukraine’s statement following the Jeddah meeting and is ready to discuss the initiatives outlined there in future contacts with Washington,” Zakharova stated.
According to her, such discussions could take place as early as today.
Earlier, Kremlin-affiliated journalists reported that Vladimir Putin might have a phone conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump by the end of the week.
At the same time, Reuters reported that Russia has already presented the U.S. with a list of demands for an agreement to end the war against Ukraine and reset relations with Washington.
