The Kyiv Prosecutor’s Office has exposed a scheme involving the issuance of fake medical certificates to draft dodgers.
The head of the psychiatric department of Rehabilitation Aid Unit No. 21 at the Sova Clinical Hospital, Vladislav Anatoliyovych, has been detained, according to Ukrainian journalists and law enforcement agencies.
Vladislav Anatoliyovych is a relatively public figure who has made appearances on Ukrainian television in the past. He has commented on various issues, including drug tests for Zelensky and Poroshenko during the 2019 elections.
According to the investigation, during the war, he issued counterfeit documents to men who wanted to leave the country, claiming they had severe medical conditions, in exchange for $6,000.
He has been placed under pre-trial detention as a preventive measure.
