In the capital region, there will be increased efforts to catch conscripts for deployment to the front lines
28.12.2023 - 11:27The idea of sending 100,000 Ukrainian police workers to the frontlines is unattainable.
This information reported according to the head of the National Police, Ivan Vygovskiy.
This notion was previously proposed by the commander of the “Aidar” battalion, Yevhen Dikyy, who suggested that out of the 250,000 police officers, 100,000 could be deployed to the front.
However, Ivan Vygovskiy refuted these calculations.
“In reality, we currently have around 100,000 active police officers, those who wear uniforms. Among them are 20,000 women and 80,000 men. Approximately 20,000 officers go on duty every day. This constitutes one shift. Additionally, there are about 15,000 investigators, 20,000 operatives, and thousands of people fighting on the front lines, including the ‘Lyut’ unit,” explained Vygovskiy in an interview.
“Therefore, regarding the proposal to mobilize 100,000 police officers, I can say that we are already maximally engaged within the framework of the Security and Defense Forces. We also prioritize internal security and safety within the country,” added the chief of the National Police.
Previously, the leader of the “Batkivshchyna” party, Yulia Tymoshenko, expressed her opinion on sending “hundreds of thousands” of law enforcement officers to the front lines.
